| In our Readiness 2 preschool
classroom your child will be making choices and learning through play. We will facilitate their learning by providing a variety
of materials and learning centers. The center’s art, science, and music teachers will also
work with the children. Your child will experience a print-rich environment, in which they will be talked to and read to, in order to encourage their
language and literacy skills. They will be introduced to math concepts; such as sorting, matching, and measuring through authentic activities. They will also learn problem solving and cooperation through peer interaction. Your child will begin preparation for Kindergarten by exposure to skills and concepts in an encouraging environment with a focus on becoming part of our classroom community. You will receive a lesson plan each week. We use the Pre-Kindergarten Pennsylvania Learning Standards for Early Childhood as a guide. Please feel free to ask questions about why we are doing a certain activity. You will be given a daily report on your child each day. There is also a daily message board outside the room. |
